New shoes for MINI

Got new shoes for the MINI today. Gunmetal Rota RBs wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grids. Size 205-55-16. I went with a larger size to tweak the speedo calibration a bit. The S-Lites and 245-17s were spot on with my GPS indicated speed. So far only set the tires up against the car to see how they look. I'll be waiting a couple of weeks until the roads clear a bit before mounting them. Should look nice once installed.

I wasn't as shocked since I read the thread first, but can you say MONSTER MINI? I take it the S-LITES will be your winter wheels?

I sold the S-Lites in about an hour after posting in the NAM classifieds. Too many wheels lying around and I figured they would be more desirable to someone than the original 5 stars.

D'oh! A day late and a dollar short. Every set of wheels for sale on NAM that I want are either 3,000 miles away or are SOLD!

Finally got to install the new Rota RBs wrapped in Bridgestone Potenzas. The Rotas are 16X7 and the Potenzas are 205-55-16. The suspension is a little jacked up in these pics. After a drive it settled down as can be seen in the tiny sig pic below.

Looking good Steve. I can't wait to get me some wheels too. RB's are on my short list too.

SteveB...love the CR/CR!!!! So what is the molding you have on the side of your car? I'm impressed with how you have it matching the CR.

I'm curious too. I have owned our r50 for 1 month, got it with 5-6 good door dings already on it, and last week got another big one. Your molding looks good and should help with some of those dings...

I got a set of 17" Rota RB's and am eagerly awaiting the spring to put them on for summer... Glad to see how sweet the RB's look. I wasn't familiar with Rota before. Anyone ever had any trouble with them? I assumed TUV certification was all I needed to know. They're just for street use, not track.

10Zero & firetruck, Here is a response I made to a previous thread about the molding:
>I purchased body colored "Camaro Styled Kit" #MDG142 from customautotrim.com (about $100 shipped). My car is Chili Red and the Brite Red trim matches very well. It is the same trim as on my 2002 Monte Carlo SS. <

Thanks everyone. I really like the RBs and Potenzas. Rides smooth as silk. I debated with going to 17s but went with the "slightly" lighter weight 16s. The rim/tire combo weighs in at 42.5 lbs on a digital bathroom scale. My old S-lites were over 50 lbs each and I did not weigh my stock 16" 5 stars yet.

I forgot to mention in my previous post: I really like that wheel tire combo! I would love to see another pic or two after you drove it around the block and got the suspension to normal. How does the diameter compare to stock for the speedo/etc?
