Need new front 17" run flats - Dunlop or Kuhmo?

Hi, my used 2005 cab needs two new front tires. I've only driven maybe 5,000 miles on these tires, but I have no idea how many the previous owner put on em. They did look very very new 5,000 miles ago. Seems like they wore out way faster than the back tires. Rotation, right? But only 5,000 miles? Could there be something else I should have them check while they're installing the new tires?

In my high priced town, the Kuhmos are 2 for $495 and Dunlops are 2 for $795. Gulp. I have the Dunlops on the car now. Any reason to choose one over the other?

Thanks!!!!

id get the alignment checked.

like inimini said, check the marketplace. people are always ditching new sets of those for non run-flats. You could just as well get 4 new regular tires for one of those!...AND get twice the mileage

Give Alex@tirerack.com a call (extention 294) and ask him about
Kumho Ecsta SPT XRP Ultra High Perf Summer tire
$159 each plus shipping, 340 treadwear, in stock now.
Buy two for the fronts and watch the wear on the rears- keep tire pressure up. When replacing tires it's always good to do an alignment back to factory settings. If toe setting is off by a little it can wear tires out fast, alignment is altered by hitting road hazzards and over time.

Tirerack will mail the two tires to you and give you the name of a shop in your area that can do the mounting and balancing.
