2010 MCS Front Brakes at 8000 KM(4900 Miles)?

Is this normal? MY OBC says check front brakes at 8000 KM's, I am now at 7500 KM's. I dont track the car, nor do i jump on the brakes excessively. I dont have a brake wear indicator light on. Do I take it to the dealer regardless, or do i wait for the brake wear indicator light to come on? I am having no isssues whatsoever, squeling brakes..perfomance..etc..

fyi...I called the dealer, he said bring it in and he'll scan the key to see what the car wants. He said it could need brakes, (pads and rotors) I was like WTF @ 8000 KMS?

When you scroll through the service indicators and you see the front brake indicator with 8000 under it, that means you will need a front brake check IN 8000 km/miles from you current mileage, so you have 8000 more to go before they need to be checked.

Once you get to within a 1000 miles (not sure on the km side) of a service, the startup OBC screen will turn yellow and say SERVICE...When you get to a lower distance (not sure what it is off the top of my head, like 100) it will turn red when you start car.

Canadian brakes wear out much faster due to the metric system.
