Wow !!!!!

I have not seen """WHITEWALL TIRES""" in a whole lot of years except on restored antique cars. The car restore people get them from a tire maker named "Coker" I would check them and see if they make the size you need. You may also do a google search to find a manufacture of whitewalls.

Just can't bear the thought. Some things are better if you just describe them using carefully selected articulate words rather than to assault the eyes. And they'd probably scrape on the fenders, too.

I saw a PT cruiser with loads of gaudy chrome and fake wood the other day. It had full white wall tires, but with a modern shape and tread. I couldn't tell what type or size they were though.

Pay hermelamenanaaaa no mind and keep searching. it's your car so do what you want with it. I've seen worse than whitewalls on a MINI. The MINI is a retro car which means that whitewalls would look good on it. If you can't find any the next best thing to do is make your own. There are several companies out that make pliable rubber paint just for this application. If my car wasn't completely blacked out, I would got his route. Good luck and keep us posted.

I'm not sure what size you are looking for . 16" 17" or 18"

A friend of mine found some kind of white wall covers or something that he just attached to his current tires... on his VW golf. He says old guys come over and talk to him all the time about them. haha.

I believe BFGoodrich still makes Radial T/A's in whitewalls..at least white lettering. I just bought a set for my other (very old) car because I just can't find 14" tires for that car anymore except for the Radial T/A's. Be aware that the speed rating does not match what a MINI requires though.

Thanks. That is kind of what I was thinking too. And I have seen a mini with white walls and I think it looks sick.

Called them and all they have for white wall are a 215. I currently run a 195 and it is a pretty tight fit under mind. I am not sure I can step up to a 215 without having any issues.

I ordered a set of whitewalls for my mom's Grand Marquis today. It's her car...it's what came on it...it's what she wanted and at age 76 more power to her. Two of the tireshops tried to talk me out of them...one woman even said, "Ew". Needless to say she didn't get the sale.

I say to each his/her own. Live and let live. Live and let buy whitewalls. Keep us posted.

Thanks. I have been looking for awhile now and so far no luck with my size tires. I may have to do some altering to get a larger set to fit. And trust me.. When I find them.. I will have pictures.

Ps. I don't want to be like every other mini out there. I would rather soup it up and make it stand out. That is just my personality.

Carolyn -- of course you should do whatever you want to do with your Mini. I was mostly just kidding with my comments (although I personally removed or reversed the whitewalls on my cars that came with them -- and there were many).

Opinions are what stimulate discussion. I find the idea of whitewalls a bit over the top. But that's my opinion and its open to disagreement.

I am also a bit shocked when I see a local one that is covered in green faux fur, or one that I see often in Orlando that has chrome wheels with spinners and chrome "portholes" on the side.

It is amazing to me that the Mini remains attractive to so many widely divergant groups of people, and each has its own ways of "youification".

So please accept my apology if I offended you -- that was not and will never be my intention -- but I still find the idea of a Mini with whitewalls to be a bit over the top. But I took them off of my Camaro, and off a whole bunch of lesser cars, including a couple of Cadillacs and most notably off of a Volvo 144 station wagon. And they were the devil himself to keep clean on the cars I didn't take them off of.

So, inspite of my tongue-in-cheek objections, please go ahead and show me -- I've changed my mind on a whole lot of things over the years. I wouldn't let my daughter get her ears pierced till she was a teenager either, and now I can't imagine her without the earrings.

Please don't be offended I really didn't intend to do that -- you can laugh at my opinions anytime you want. That's the beauty of all of this.

Just to add fuel to the fire -- most of the 50's and 60's era hotrods seemed to have whitewall tires and bright red wheels. I'm not suggesting that.....but.

You saw that car, too??? And little chrome "Moon" caps to go in the center of the red wheels??? And louvered hood? And red/white tuck&roll seats.

Actually, I'm getting interested -- anyone out there who could photoshop one for us???

Those portawalls are probably what I had seen on the PT. If they didn't need a tire shop to put on, it might be kind of fun to play with a set.

I have used portawalls in the past, and I do not recommend them. They come off at highway speeds, and you run the risk of damaging your car, or worse, having an accident. I had this happen a few times. (I was apparently a slow learner.)

IMHO, a two tone MINI with wide whitewalls, chome wheels with baby moon chrome hubcaps would look kinda neat.

Hi all with a Chili Red w/white top I have seriously thought about 15'' red rims with chrome moons and wide whitewalls
