Tire symble in the speedometer stays on
The tire warning symble in the tach on my 2009 JCW is not lit but the small symble on the speedometer stays on.
When I go to re-set the monitor it says it is resetting but after driving a while I look and it still says resetting.
It just seems to not want to re-set.
Anybody got any idea's on what is happening? I guess a trip to the dealer is in store for me. Probably $50.00 to turn the light off.
I did get new tires today but this was happening before the new tires were installed.

Did they put the TPMS sensors back in when they installed the new tires?
Sounds like one of yours has failed. I don't know if the dealer's computer can tell you which one or not.....it would be a bummer to have to dismount all the tires to find the bad one.
Does the big symbol in the tach come on at all when you start the car? I'm running some wheels I bought aftermarket and they don't have any TPMS sensors in them at all, when I start up I get the big symbol for just a few seconds, then it goes away but the one in the speedo stays lit.

It was like this before the new tires were put on.
The big symbol in the tach does not come on at all. It will come on if I let some air out of one of the tires though.
The little symbol on the speedometer just stays on at all times. I did have to use fix a flat back in March but the small symbol just started acting up a few days ago. The flat I had to plug back in march started leaking and the big symbol lit up so I added air and set the monitor. Everything was fine as far as the big symbol but the little symbol stayed on. Now it won't go off.
I'll go for a long fast ride tomorrow and see what happens. I gotta try out my new Michelin Exalto PE2's anyway. I went to 215/45/17's and they really look huge compared to the 205 Dunlap's I just took off. A little higher but much wider looking.
