need to sub a couple of tires
I have 215/35/18 tires on a set of 18" motegi's. tire rotation noticed some separation on one of the front tires from aluminum wheel. So i put on 2 195/55/16's up front until I found a pair to replace the 18's.
need taller tires than the 35's, they are just way too jarring. what size tall tire can i fit to replace the 215/35/18's for better ride.
also, usually see tire separation from wheel on aluminum mag, but I usually just re-mount the tire. is that a better scenerio? the 18" wheels are only about a year old and otherwise in excellent condition.
Thanks

how tall can i go without rubbing the wheel wells? would like a smoother ride.
whitewalls would be perfect.
once I swap out 2 tires to the larger size, i would plan on putting them in front until ready to replace the other 2 tires.
don't know if the tires are directional, ideally it would be nice to swap them around so that any toe in gets even wear.

so i've figured out that i can fit:
215/40/18
215/45/18
205/40/18
205/45/18
205/50/18
215/35/18 (current)
to replace the tires. Have figured out that the cause of the last 2 sets of tire failure was bad alignment at the tire place, figure I will get neutral camber next time. So, need to get 4 new tires again.
don't know much about tires, but I think that the 215/45/18's would be the tallest tires I could fit on the car. Since comfort is the deciding factor after dealing with the too low-of-profiles 215/35's, and I haven't found any record of 45/18's fitting, i think i'll look for some 215/40/18.

I'm currently running 215/35 r18's as well and I have to replace the rears due to camber and toe-in. I would rotate but my tires are out of sync from when I bought my used rims anyway....still like-new tread up front.
I'm debating going 215/40 r18 for the rear and I think it may make the car look more aggressive too. I'll let you know what I end up doing.
