Quiet + Comfortabl 215/40/17 ?

What are my options for something a little more comfortable that my Star Spec Z1's for a daily driver in summer only conditions (AZ)

Only thing I have found is the Continental DW, but I'm sure there are others out there.

Although I cannot really tell quietness due to my engine mods, my Hankook Ventus V12 is comfy but not squimmish at all. Go Kart feel is still there. Check if they offer 215x40x7.

Unfortunately the Ventus is a 215/45 - it was on the top of my list though!

Kumho has a Sport LE and the ASX I have also taken a look at. The ASX being the more quiet and comfy rated of the two

215/45/17 Michelin's

I put on Michelin non-runflat 215/45/17 Michelin Exalta PE2 summer only tires on my 2009 factory JCW and wish I would have done it at day one.

Michellin Exalto A/S: I think that Tire Rack has a closing out sale @ $130 /pc.

The 215/45's work fine.

The 45's are taller and much wider then the 205/45/17's that were on the car originaly. They ride great and stick like glue and do not make noise like the run-flats. They look great and no problems at all with any rubbing. The 40's if made would probably be a harsher ride because of the short sidewall. I personaly don't think they would be as good on the street as the 45's. That is my opinion. I don't think you will go wrong using the 45's.

215/45/17 is just a tad taller and better fit for the wheel well

They are nice and wide and excellent in wet weather

Nice and wide with no problems at all

Well Ronnie - I have a R53.. and I am much lower than you on top of that. We have much less clearance for lots of rubber. I am also running a wider wheel with a much lower off-set than you. I already have a 215/45/17 with a torn up sidewall from a wheel with higher off-set.. So they absolutely won't work, but you can keep trying to convince me.

Sorry,

I thought you had a newer model. I don't know about the R53's but I'm sure someone will be able to give you some information.

The best riding choice in 215/40/17 would be the General Altimax HP!
Not bad looking either!
