Finally New Tires
After stretching the RFT to the max (29,000) I will be getting new tires put on Tomorrow! The RFT's have been "droning" for many months, and at my last visit I was told they needed to be replaced ASAP - as they were not "safe". The MINI dealer in Annapolis wanted over $1,200 to replace all four - what the! So after much reading on this site I opted for the Yoko Envigors at 215-45-17. Cost of the tires was $437 delivered and expect to pay $200 for install with balancing and TPMS moved to new tires. Out the door TOTAL should be no more than $650 (tires and install). And not to mention a $40 rebate card!
Can't wait to feel (riding on rocks ala Flintstones) and HEAR (the RFT are deafening!) the difference!

UPDATE
Got the tires on yesterday at the local tire shop - walked out the door with a $300+ bill! They did a 4 wheel alignment (which can be done for free going forward), which got the number up from the anticipated Just over $200.00!
Initial reactions to the Yoko Envigors - they turn in quicker, very responsive, and they ride very smooth. I was really surprised by how quiet the clubman cabin is now - it was VERY, VERY loud with the RFT's!! I drove my "bumby" route to work this morning and immediately felt a 100% improvement in ride quality! The bumps, dips and rumple strips don't make me feel as though I am riding on a wooden rollercoaster!
Rain traction seems good (we had an inch of rain today). I get good grip off the line at stop lights!
I will update as I get more miles and some "higher" speed driving done! I will test on the beltway on Saturday morning - a real test of the tires..

Congrats on the new Yoko's. I bought the Continental DWS tires about 7 months ago and am very happy. The Conti's are not the quickest or most precise for turns, however, they are incredible in the rain and I believe they will be great in the snow also. I may look into the Yoko's when the time comes. Keep us updated on how they are in winter conditions!
