Snow Tire questions
Last year I bought 4 new snow tires for my wife's Saab.A month after this purchase we had major engine problems and traded the car for a 2006 Mini Cooper - wow what a different ride !
I would like to use these 4 like new tires on my 06 Cooper. They are 195/65/15 and my wheels are alloy 15".I see that the standard winter tire seems to be 185/15 but the Mini Cooper S uses snow tires up to 205.I understand the S model has 16" wheels but it appears that the body of these two models are the same, except for the hood scoop. Are the wheel wells the same? Can I use these tires? They will probably be mounted on steel wheels to make the seasonal change easier [if that makes a difference].
Thanks!

I currently run 185/65/15s on steelies for my winter setup (195/55/16s during the other 3 seasons).
I was looking into other possibilities for my winter rubber and found this nifty calculator: http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp
Long story short, yes your 195/65/15s should work just fine, although your overall wheel diameter will be larger, and as a result your speedometer will read a tad slow and your odometer will also be a little off (by about 2% in each case).
