SCC Super Z6 Snow Cables

SCC Super Z6 Snow Cables
Has anyone tried the SCC Super Z6 cables with 205/45-17 tires?

The website claims that only 1/4" clearance is required. There seems to be about 3/8" clearance between the back of the tire and the strut, so it SHOULD work. I'm wondering if anyone has used them before.
The owner's manual is obviously no help, because Mini doesn't suggest chains on 17" wheels.
Before you ask, snow tires aren't a good option for me. I'm just looking for chains I can carry during occasional ski trips to Tahoe.
I've got a 2010 MCS with the 17" wheels.

Studs are the way to go if you do snow tires. I have pirelli winters on studs right now.
But if you do need a set of chains , the snow socks will work for emergencies. Dont run with studs of course More for people on all seasons and get the occasional snow/.
All right here , watch the certain sizes. Certain chains only.

If you are in a snowy area , snow tires or snow tires with studs are great.

Metal studs are not permitted everywhere.
Some of the more surprising states not allowing them: Alaska, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin.
And some states apparently require chains in snow emergencies even if you have studded tires.

Yea, some states only allow studs for a certain time like Ohio here. Yea and some require chains in the mountains. If a state by state thing.
