anyone know what I should make the tire pressure in my brand new evs-1000

205-45-17

I usually only drive with one person in the car and minimal extra luggage weight.

If you mean your tires are Yokohama AVS ES100 then just follow the standard tire inflation recommendation for MCS which is 33 to 34 cold psi in all tires. The tire psi recommendations are listed on the inside of the driver's door pillar. It doesn't matter which tire you have, it is for the car based on two or four occupants.

Tweeking tire pressures can help your handling though. I run lower pressures in back to help offset the factory understeer. The front I run 34-36 and the rear 32-34. Hope this helps. Much depends on the tire characteristics and spring/sway bar combo. Just another subtle tool you can use

For general use in an MCS with 17" wheels with two persons the 32-34 cold psi front and back will work OK and for four persons the 37-38 cold psi front and back will work.

Depending on how your MINI handles and your driving style you may find that there is some understeer. Those that have added a larger rear swaybar can reduce some understeer and approach neutral or near neutral steering. If that is the case then only small changes in tire pressures are needed.

Some people like to try making the rear pressures about 3 to 6 psi higher than the fronts while others do the opposite. It all depends on your MINI's setup and how your car handles with the changes. Have fun.
