what bolts for asa ar1s

Can anyone tell me what wheel bolts I need to put a set of asa ar1s on an 09 mini? The bolts that came with them fit in the wheel but the bolt diameter is wrong, and the factory bolts dont fit the wheel. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great!

Don't know where you bought these but bolts do not normally come with them. When I had a set of AR1s, the factory bolts worked just fine.
Can you be more specific than 'don't fit' ? Is the factory bolt taper different? Too short? Diameter too large?

Well we bought the wheels used and they came with bolts. Itried puttig them on at the end of last winter so I can't really remember why the factory bolts didn't work. I think the head was to fat to fit into the wheel if that's possible. I will double check later.

Mini increased the diameter of the wheel bolts on the late 2006s and all 2007 on. It could be that the wheels you bought were older than 2007 and the holes in the wheel had a smaller diameter. New (since 07) AR1s should accept the stock bolt with no issues. In any case, the taper of the seat for the bolt should be the same as the stock bolt. There are no special instructions concerning bolts in the Tire Rack site for these wheels. If the hole is too small, some one that does precision drilling could enlarge it for you. I wouldn't try this myself even though I think some have.

That makes perfect sense. Ok so do you think they make a bolt the 09 thickness that would have a thinner head. Befire I buy anything I'm going to try to put them on one more time. Maybe I just needed a thinner socket.

This is the wheel, it is a universal, maybe that is the problem.

This is the bolt.

The stock bolts will not work.

I'd call Alex at Tire Rack & see if he can help you. He is a very resourceful guy & if he doesn't have what you need he will know where to get it.
