Finally took the time to replace the factory Dunlop run flats with some regular tires

Chalk me up as yet another person who can't believe he waited so long to ditch the run-flat tires. My girlfriend, who is admittedly not a huge fan of my 09 JCW due to its harsh ride (thanks in part due to being lowered and the roads in Vegas are terrible) noticed the difference.

The ride quality is much improved, but the real improvement is in the road noise and grip. The road noise is so reduced that now I can hear squeaks and rattles I couldn't hear before.

Anyway, I put on some 215/45R17 Bridgestone Potenza R760 Sports. So far I am very pleased with how they ride.

So, if you're uncertain that swapping out the run-flats will make a substantial difference, IT WILL.

I read you loud and clear. Just switched from Dunlop runflats to Yoko Avid Envigor on my R53 in the same size as you last week and absolutely loving it. Better grip, comfort, and I can hear the engine more now due to the lessened tire noise. I will never go back!

A friend of mine recently put Bridgestone Ecopias on his Cooper. Ride is vastly improved and mpg jumped from the 30s to the 40s.

How much were those Bridgstones? I've got the Continental runflats, I like them, the ride isn't harsh at all, but when they wear out, I don't want to spend a thousand dollars on new replacements.

Did you get a dough nut spare too?

I got them for ~$700. I did buy a spare from detroittuned.com, which is on its way to me right now.
