Runflat tires

Just picked up my new JCW with 17 and it came with Dunlops. I was goign to switch them out for NRF but I am impressed with quiteness and ride. Need more time and dry roads for a handling evaluation. I had Bridgestones on my 2010 and they were loud and road like a rock. Might have better turn in with the stiffer side walls. Impressed with the Dunlops so far. I will keep them on till summer.

P.S. People bashing run-flats is getting old, imho. But hey, if you enjoy changing a flat tire on a cold dark Dec evening, after a long day in the office, when everyone else has already drove off the parking lot - more power to you....

There isn't - OE had Continental Conti-Pro-Contact SSR 195/55 R16 on ours and I read they were one of the best riding runflats out there. We ran them for 2,600 miles. After changing them for the non runflats in my sig - we marveled how they felt soooo much smoother before we even got out of Discount Tire's driveway. Night and day difference dudes. NIGHT AND DAY!

There is also a big difference between High Performance Summer tires and All Seasons. My dad has a set of Bridgestone Turanza Serenity and my mom has a set of Bridgestone Potenza G19. Hers have much better grip on dry pavement and in the wet but are louder on the road. My dad wanted a better riding tire so he went with the Turanza.
Turanza - Grand Touring All-Season
Potenza - High Performance All-Season

I'm quite happy with Dunlops, although I have 17" wheels and part of this happiness is attributed to their ability to protect rims from potholes.

And if you enjoy paying $240 to replace a non repairable runflat...more power to you.

I personally like the runflats and put these on my '06 MCS.
