15 inch wheels for winter use.

I apologize if this has been covered before, but I couldn't really find what I was looking for. I'm looking for some 15 inch wheels for winter tires. I know I could just get some cheap steelies, but I'd like something that looks a little better. I found some 15x6JJ Option Racing wheels on ebay, one set has a 35mm offset, and the other has a 45mm offset. The center bore on both is 56.1, which, if I recall, is the appropriate size for the MINI. The suspension is totally stock on my MCS. Which wheel would fit better? Is a 195/60/15 tire a good choice for this? Sorry that I'm rambling, I've been tossing this idea around in my head for days and it's driving me insane.

TL,DR:
Thinking about 15x6 wheels for winter.
Don't know if I should choose 35mm or 45mm offset, or a different one.
Will these wheels clear the stock suspension on a MCS with a 195/60/15?

For "guaranteed" fit contact Tire Rack (Tirerack.com) for 15 inch wheels to fit a MCS. NAM even has its own customer service rep at Tire Rack. A concern would be a 15 inch wheel fitting over your brake calpiers. This regardless of the offset. Look them up on line or call them. Its a great place to start. Good luck.

Simple.

Go to tirerack and enter your year MINI and model

Seek winter wheels and tires and look for 15" but some MINIs with larger front brake calipers will not fit 15".

Talk to or email Alex@tirerack.com for more info.

Steel wheels are OK but alloy ones are also very possible at reasonable cost.

15x6 wheels 4x100 bolt pattern are fine, +45mm offset is OK

What wheels do you have now? 16" or 17"

I have a 2003 MCS and use stock 15x5.5" wheels with 195/60-15 tires and they are fine for me. I also run 15x6" rims (+50mm offset) with 185/65-15 snow tires and they are fine.
