Milled edge vs. solid powdercoat...which is better?
Hi all,
I'm about to pull the trigger on some cheap wheels and wanted opinions on whether having a milled perimeter on the wheel is recommended feature. The wheels I'm considering are Konig feathers - which are completely powdercoated - and the Drag DR9s, which are powdercoated as well, but have a milled perimeter. Both wheels are very similar in design otherwise.
I guess I'm thinking the DR9s can have minor scuffs along the bead sanded/polished out and was leaning that direction, but will go with the slightly lighter Feathers if that is just a stoned thought on my part.
Thanks!!

Creeve,
Excellent point on the corrosion issue. Michigan's gov't is broke, except, it seems, when it comes to having funding for road salt! It's highly likely that I'll end up with the 15 inchers as winter wheels, so fully painted/powdercoated or whatever they are is probably a better choice in this instance.
BTW, I followed the link to your homepage and gotta say you're doing that Sportster justice by reconnecting it with the 'sport' in Sportster. My favorite bike is my Thruxton Bonneville, so I guess I'm biased in that direction!
Cheers,

Amazing. I ordered a set of konig feathers w/ mounted and balanced goodyear eagle GTs tires from discount tire direct yesterday at 4:00 PM and they arrived already! I'd say less than 24 hours is pretty good deliver time, even if it was only from Ohio...
Hurray for winter shoes for my MCS!

Oh, and I weighed both the stocker and the new shoe on a postal scale. The S-lite w/ 17" pirelli runflat weighed in a hefty 47 lbs, 3 ounces whilst the Konig feather w/ 15" goodyear eagle gt weighed 36 lbs even. Not sure who's fudging their stats, but the Konig is suppose to weigh a bit under 12 lbs. and the eagle GT is supposed to weigh 22 lbs...last time I checked, that doesn't total 36 lbs! The MCS definitely feels lighter on her feet...
