Hankook Ventus V12?

I wanted to see if anyone had experience with these tires. I'm in FL, so cold weather, ice, etc is not an issue, but rain is. The car is an 07 MCS with 205-45-R17. I do mostly highway driving these days, but do like to go around corners quickly from time to time. I'm Coming from BFG g-force sports. My other option is the Yoko S-Drives.

I have had these tires for a year so far they've been great including those occasional rain storms.

I've had mine since about February, and they feel great. Solid grip, relatively quiet. They do not squeal regularly in hard turning, which could mislead you to how close to the edge of their grip is. Really thats just a problem if you aren't used to them and are autoX'ing/tracking on them.

I've used them in rain torrents, and they feel planted. They perform well on small puddles, but like any tire if you are driving at high speed across large puddles things will get hairy with hydroplaning.

I've had them for over a year. Good wear, quiet, very good grip, but as noted above, they do feel a little squishy, but I've long gotten used to it. Previous to these I tried the Yoko S.Drives and didn't care for them, although turn is was better, they didn't offer nearly the amount of grip. Car and Driver did a really good article last year and the Hankooks came in second place,

Do you guys mean the sidewall seems soft? What PSI are you guys running? I have mine at 33; between that and my stiff R53 suspension, I feel like I'm riding with the wheels bolted to the chassis. But I am running 205/45s they might be different than the 215/45s.

Maybe I'm just too used to my last car that ran airbags from the factory.

I came off of RE01R's, which seemed to have a stiffer sidewall. I'm running stock PSI. As I said, I've gotten used to it and don't notice it anymore.

I recently replaced my Falken Ziex 912's with the Hankook V12, very happy with them so far.

Just got the V12s (215/45/17) about a month ago, so far I am finding them to be most excellent. They are a bit softer than the OEM run-flats, so in comparison I would agree that they are "slightly squishy" ... but I am already used to it and wouldn't call it a major complaint. The trade-off in improved ride quality and reduced road noise over the run-flats is absolutely worth it to me. Going with a smaller size/shorter sidewall would firm them up a little, but I'm happy with my choice. I don't cringe going over every bump any more

extremely soft side wall. great for everyday driving, just not a Ultra High Performance tire. I would never even think of tracking these tires, just putting highway miles on them.

I ditched Bridgestone RFT's for the V12's a few months ago. First impression was that the tires were a bit soft or squishy, but I pumped 'em up to 38psi & they feel much better to me now in the corners.

They ride much better than the RFT's, have done well in serious rain. I have yet to break these tires loose in spirited let-'er-rip daily driving.

I disagree highly, and I have tracked them. They have very good grip and are very predictable! So much grip in fact that Tirerack considers them Maximum Performance over the UHP title.

"Despite that feeling of softness, the V12 Evos somehow managed a second-place skidpad run of 0.93 g and were above average in braking."

Compared to the Hankook RS-2 that i use at the track they are very unpredictable(not sharp). But thats why i have two different sets of wheels.

'Absolutely love them. After coming off the stock runflats, they did seem a bit less connected to the road, but this I attribute to the more flexible sidewalls compared to the runflat. Any non runflat would feel this way compared to a run flat.

They stick like glue. They're very predictable, even at the very edge of traction. No surprises when the start to slip a bit. Decent wear. Excellent performer in the wet. As mentioned, it was the number two tire in the Car and Driver test.

My car is an '06 JCW cabriolet. I run 38 front and 36 rear and that's about perfect. (Mine are 215/40-18's so more pressure is required.) After some hard driving, the scuff marks are over onto the sidewalls just to the little diamond marks which is an indicator of proper tire pressure.

You won't be disappointed in them.

Yep, I agree as well. Very, very predictable. BR Racing here in Los Gatos, California used to recommend Yokohama S Drives for their Mini customers. Now they're recommending the V12's. Awesome tire. And yea, depending on your tire profile and driving habits, pump them up. As I mentioned previously, I run 38 front, 36 rear and they're great. And I drive the car pretty hard sometimes.

Ok, sure the RS-2's are more of a track tire, but if you only track occasionally, these are fine. They aren't as good on the track as my old RE-01R's, but they are a better all around tire that stand up pretty decent for the occasional track day.
