Wheel & tire/Size help

I have a 06 R50. I'll soon need tires and currently have the stock bicycle tires on it.
Whats the widest I can go on my stock rims before i need to change those too?
-current tire is 175/65/15

i-Mini you'll probably get a better answer to your question in the Tires, Wheels & Brakes section: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...and-brakes-36/

Plus there are a ton of threads in that section about tire size, so you'll have lots to read through.

I run 205/55/15 on stock 5.5 inch spooler wheels. They fit well.

BTW, the 205/55/15 mentioned above is a near perfect diameter with your current tires and will provide a substantial increase in tire patch width!

Could someone please post a picture of the 205/55/15 tires mounted on stock wheels?

I think you could discuss this with a good tire installer because tire dealer is the person who knows what fits best and what works best because he is facing this kind of issues on a daily basis

I is a tradeoff going to wider tires.

Wider can give you better handling but in a justa you will lose some noticeble acceleration with taller tires and mpg will fall as well due to increase rolling friction.

I have the 205/55/15 tires with no noticeable decrease in acceleration. I get 40-45 mpg. The diameter is almost exact to 175/65/15 so no difference in the speedo. 205/50/15 are a little small in diameter and throws some things off although acceleration is improved due to the improved gearing ratio. You would have to decide whether this is right for you if you do not want a closer match to OEM.

I'm also looking to lower it (no more than an 1") so that should the trick. Now I can stick w/ harder suspension that is the stock size.
Thanks everyone for your feedback.
