Will the BBS RGR's clear?
#1
i would like to add a set of BBS RGR's to my electric blue and black top mini. i think they would look good being in the black chrome look. but i hear that if you lower the car they rub. i plan on adding h-sport springs to the car soon and wan the wheels to fit and not rub after i add them. if anone has done this please let me know and if they do rub, how much? could i do some fancy trimming and get away with things? i am not affrade ot getting into things, i am just getting all my info before i buy. but in the end i want a good looks as well as performance. can anyone help a brother out? thanks.

Are we talking about 215/40-17 or 215/45-17 tire sizes with no rubbing issues? I have an offset of 40mm with an H-Sport lowered car using the 215/45-17 and have all sorts of rubbing issues. Unless you are using coilovers it is very doubtful that you wouldn't have rubbing issues using H-Sport springs and 215/45-17 size tires with a wheel that has an offset of 38.
Just looking for some clarification.

I've found that every MINI is different - my 1st MCS with stock S-lites with 5mm spacers rubbed with the stock Pirelli's, however my 17x7" ET 42 with bulbous sidewall Pirelli Winter 240 in 205/45-17 rub none with H-Sports and -1.5 degrees of rear camber. The new setup is just about a recipe for rubbing, but MM2 seems to be a little fatter under the wheel arches....cool.
Chad - I'd say you'll get away with minimal rubbing with the RGR's with 205/45-17 or 215/40-17's that have flat sidewalls (like the Parada2's) with little-to-no camber adjustment. But then again, each MINI is different

just to clarify - we are running 215/40-17 Kumho MX tires with no rubbing..that have a pretty flat sidewall. We have used some other kumho tires in 215/45 i believe and there was a limited bit of rubbing...again this is with the car slammed for road course racing...more then what most would dare consider streetable.
