225 width Star Specs on OEM wheel?
Quick, hopefully easy question. As an autocrosser, I've fallen in love with Star Specs. Will they fit, width-wise, on an OEM 16x6.5 wheel if I go 225/50R16? I know that Star Specs tend to run a bit wide. I'm not so much worried about the size difference (I know they'd be a touch taller than OEM) but more about whether it's too big of a tire for the wheel. If it's too wide, should I go slightly undersized with 205/50R16 or slightly oversized with 205/55R16?
Thanks in advance for quick replies.

I would use the 205/50-16.
I run 15x7 wheels, and over the last five years I've run 225, 205, and 195 in the R1R, the RS3, and the Z1.
With the 7" wide wheel, I have found that I do not get the full potential of the 225 - close, but not quite.
The contact patch has to be flat to get everything the tire has, and for me the 225 was a touch too much to get there.
With DOT R folks do go crazy wide on the stock rims and get away with it, but it is my understanding that the sidewalls on the sticky rubber are quite different than in the case of TW 140.
I now run the Direzza myself, at 205/50-15. I like the setup, and also the tire.
Just two bits,
Charlie
