Which is better for everyday driving? I'm mostly concerned with the amount of dust. If the stopping power is at least as good as stock, then I'll be happy. Better stopping would be a nice bonus though. If it matters, i do more back road driving with frequent stops all week, with freeway driving on the weekends.
I did notice that the Mintex seem to be quite a bit cheaper and I've been happy with them on other cars. EBC's have a reputation for warping rotors in the Audi circles, and i think they were part of the reason my A4 rotors warped. I did like their initial bit though.
Thoughts?

I have the Mintex Redbox front and rears and they are considerably less costly than the EBC greens for front and rears (tends to squeak). The stopping power is very good for street use, the pad life is very good and the brake dust is considerably less than stock. I would say that the Redbox would be OK for autocross use as well.

I have Zimmerman crossdrilled rotors front and back, Stainless steel brakelines and ATE superblue brake fluid.
Everything works fine.

I've put atleast 20k on EBC Greens, no probs. I have a decent amount of braking in my daily commute--- I'd say, 20 highway, 15 city/backroads daily, more city/br over weekends.

Can't speak for the Mintexs as I have not used them. Have about 4K miles on EBC Greens with no problems. They stop at least as good as the oem pads on street and MUCH less dust.

I've run Mintex reds on my Audi for some 30,000 miles. Huge difference over stock pads in the dust dept. with stock stopping power. Before brake dust generation was MINI-like, wheels filthy after a couple of miles. Now, its never a problem, and cleaning the car is done when the body is dirty, not just the wheels. Haven't tried them on my MCS though, if my past experience is any indication, they will do a great job.

Who sells the Mintex for MINIs? I've seen EBC at most vendors.

Btw, have used Mintex reds for street application on A4 as well with positive results.

A NAM memeber, sandan, had an issue with warping rotor with EBC pads, resulting in denial of warranty work.

Please read this thread!

I've purchased Mintex Redbox pads (for reducing dust) and Zimmerman crossed-drilled/slotted rotors (for better cooling and appearance). I'll be putting them on when I have more time. I Is it necessary to replace the brake lines and fluid the same time? What're the benefits?

Mintex Reds: Last as long as stock, or maybe 20% more miles, depending on usage. Not really recommended for track time. Much less dust than stock, with approximately the same bite, perhaps a tad more.

EBC Greens: Last 80-100% as long as stock pads. Also not recommended for serious track time. Much less dust than stock, but with more bite.

Conclusion: EBC Greens don't last as long, but have better bite, whereas the Mintex Reds last longer with less bite. Both produce less dust than stock, and have better if not equal bite, compared to stock pads.

I'll probably buy the Mintex Reds, as I like their price, longevity, and boy do I want less brake dust  When my financial situation improves I might upgrade to EBC Greens for the added stopping power.

Just recently replaced my warped rotors and EBC greens, with new OEM rotors and OEM pads (as they were free). I liked the brakedust elimination with the greens but the warped my rotors, and I don't even do any track driving...yet. After reading the posts here I'll most likely do Mintex Reds, would anybody try to talk me out of this?
TIA
