Would 17x8 front and 17x9 rear offset 22 work?

Hi,
Looking at a set of wheels and the fronts are 17x8 et22 and the rears 17x9 et22.
Would these work for R56?
If yes, what tires would fit and do I need coils and camber plates?
I currently got NM springs.
Thanks so much in advance!
-Mike

I don't see how they would fit/work on a MINI. The ET is much too little, so they would probably stick out beyond the fender quite a bit. Second, the 9" wide rears would probably not fit without rubbing even if they were the correct offsets. I don't think you'd want wider wheels and tires in the rear anyway; the rears mostly just hold up the back end while the fronts do almost all the work.

+1 that the offset is too little to work on a Mini with those size wheels.

Could it be made workable? Yes.

Lots of camber, little tires and a little trimming and they could be made to fit. Probably would still rub under some extreme conditions, but manageable.

et 25-30 for 9s and 30-35 for 8s is better though.

These wheels have like 2" front lips and 3" rear lips. If I make the rear like 2" and the front 1", that reduce 1" for them all around. So how much et would I gain after doing that?
Thanks,
-Mike

Or just reduce the rear 1" put them up front and put the fronts out back.

Are you looking at the Work VS-XX's at s2cw? if so, they're sold.

But no, they won't fit. You want about et34-36, might be able to push et30... Anything more and you'd need to run some aggressive camber.

et 34 on a 17x9 would rub the rear inside trailing arm and plastic. 17x9 et 30 works with a few lil tweaks.

Yeah I have read that thread. Im still uncertain those specs are right IMO. I have 17x9 et30 and this is my clearance between rim and rear arm:

Not saying that x9 et37 is out of the question. Wheel width is bead to bead and I may just have a lot of extra lip. But I wouldnt risk 17x9 et 37. I dont have an extra 7 mm of clearance. :P

NOTE: I just reread the first post and he mentioned R56. Mine is an R50 so not sure about the clearance differences between the two.
