Would 17x8 front and 17x9 rear offset 22 work?

I don't see how they would fit/work on a MINI. The ET is much too little, so they would probably stick out beyond the fender quite a bit. Second, the 9" wide rears would probably not fit without rubbing even if they were the correct offsets. I don't think you'd want wider wheels and tires in the rear anyway; the rears mostly just hold up the back end while the fronts do almost all the work.

Yeah I have read that thread. Im still uncertain those specs are right IMO. I have 17x9 et30 and this is my clearance between rim and rear arm:
Not saying that x9 et37 is out of the question. Wheel width is bead to bead and I may just have a lot of extra lip. But I wouldnt risk 17x9 et 37. I dont have an extra 7 mm of clearance. :P
NOTE: I just reread the first post and he mentioned R56. Mine is an R50 so not sure about the clearance differences between the two.
