spacer size for 949 racing 15x9 in the rear?
#2
I did a fitment with a scale printing of the "template" from emillio at 949 last week on my r53. emilio can send you the file, print it (actual size), mount on cardboard, and cutout.
According to the template-- with 15mm spacers the rim clears the steel trailing arm. Your sway bar may push things out a good bit more, I didn't bother checking b/c i'm not using a rear bar.
I'll be test fitting an actual TR c3m 15x9 et 36 on thursday and will let you know, what works with it. the 6UL is the same spec but obviously a different wheel.
it looks like the front is going to require 25mm with coilovers and 2.25" springs.
I'f I get the 6ul's I'm leaning toard the 15x10's

TR motorsport C3M 15x9 36et. gravity cast.
Front with 15mm spacer. H+R DR Spacer + studs.
there is 10 mm b/w the leda coilover strut and the rim.
wilwood 11.75" calipers clears by 6+ mm
stock ball joint has 6+ mm
Rear with 15mm spacer
good clearance to lower strut mount on knuckle.
2.2mm clearance control arm to rim.
the h-Sport swaybar, stays inside the rim if the endlinks are set short.
at full droop the bend on the swaybar almost hits the rim.
rear brakes are stock MCS so there's plenty of room.
If I was driving this on roads (bumps) I would add 3 to 5mm for compliance. but its on a smooth closed course so I feel OK. We'll see what rubs.
Next stop tires:
I'm fitting 21.5" Avon race tires with ~ 10" Section width. they are wider than the wheels. they are slightly less wide than "275mm" 15" A6 Hoosiers. which are about 11.5" wide
I don't expect to rub the strut. hopefully the section width on the Front tire clears the perch. if the tire comes up perfectly square from the sidewall to the tread I will have to move my perch up a bit and get shorter springs.
the rear should clear fine.
I will need to check the sidewall to the inner fender bump where the strut mounts, the trailing arm should be good as it curves in away from the tire.
some fitment photo's are up in my gallery. I'll take sexy ones once the tires are on the car.
