Question about Hankook tires
I have read quite a few posts talking about how great the Hankook Ventus V12 evo tires are for the price, but would those of you who like them still recommend them if they were not that cheap?
I need to replace my runflats and am not particularly "brand loyal" to any particular tire, but I can't remember the last time I paid less that $150 for a tire and want to avoid buying cheap tires that don't perform well -- cheap tires become very expensive if I have to replace them before they wear out because I don't like them!
And speaking of wearing out, how do they wear?
I am running OEM runflats with about 21K on them. They don't "need" to be replaced, meaning that they still have sufficient tread on them, but they are worn unevenly (I know it is normal with aggressive camber) and I am tired of going to the dealership to have them tighten up everything that shakes loose and rattles from the rough ride.
Also, I have seen posts recommending rotating tires and posts recommending not rotating tires because of that camber, does anyone have an opinion about rotating these particular tires?
THANKS!

I was not worry about price when I purchased the Hankkok V12 tires. I just want something good in around the 280-300 wear range. Since my first R53 in 2003, the various tires I have used have always been more expensive than the V12s. The V12s outperform all of the previous tires other than maybe the Toyo T1Rs (about equal to the T1Rs). I usually get about 16,000 miles per tire set and the V12s appear to be wearing at about the same rate.
I rotate tires about every 5,000 miles because I run more camber in the front than rear. Seems to help a little.

I have been running Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105's for about 1000 miles now and they are great so far. Much quieter than the runflats, and they handle really well. I have some Hankook all-terrain tires on my Xterra that are some of the best tires that I've ever used (Dynapro ATM RF10s). I wouldn't hesitate to run Hankooks in the future. This set on the MINI is about the 5th set I've had of various Hankooks overall, and have never had any complaints. They have sort of become my preferred tire brand as of late.

Good questions. I suspect that their price is a major attraction. I noticed their popularity here too, and was comparing survey ratings of various tires at the Tire Rack site. I noticed that some of the tires in a lower performance category had somewhat better performance ratings, but they also cost more.
I think the Hankooks' overall ranking in its own performance category was about 6th, but those that rank above it also cost more.
In short, their main attraction seems to be price.
