I've got Kosei K1 Racing 16" wheels and would like to get some Hoosiers for autocross. They now have the new A3S04 in 205/45 and 225/50. Am I correct in assuming that the 225/50's won't fit? The older A3S03 comes in a 215/40 and 225/50.

So my questions are, which of these tires fit, and which would be the best to get? Thanks.

I run 215/40s. They have a smaller diameter and are wider. If you must have A3S04s, the 205/45s offer smaller diameter and no rubbing issues.

Thanks Chris. So both the A3S03 215/40 and the A3S04 205/45 fit. Do you have an opinion on the trade-off between the 03 being wider vs. any potential advantage the 04 is supposed to have?

04s are supposed to last longer, other than that, I have not heard anything. Brian Garfield may have run on a set already, and he may chime in soon.

04's are also wider than the 03's in the same sizes. Check http://www.midatlanticmotorsport.com for specs.

I have the new '04's 205 on the stock '16' rims..they are wider than my 215/45/17 street tires! That being said..my first autox this year was yesterday,my first run i took it easy, and that was my fastest time of the day.sorry but i got all excited!it was good enough for 2nd..1st,2nd and 3rd was all MINI!

Nope, went with the R3S03's first this year. After seeing the measurements on the 205/45R16 S04's, looks like I'll be doing that for my second set, while waiting on the 215/40R16's.
