Picked up my new wheels last night and couldn't resist. I had the shop put them on. I was going to wait til after winter but I just couldn't. Actually I'll be putting my winter wheels back on this weekend, just wanted to try out the new ones.

They are Panasports for those who don't know. They aren't the lightest wheels on the market which wasn't really a huge concern of mine. But they are the most like the wheels on the old classics and that's what I was going for.

Still a couple more months 'til I can put them on and leave them on for the spring/summer/fall.

I've always liked Panasports, your car just keeps getting better looking.

Thanks guys! I want to get some nicer pics this weekend. I took those at the shop right after they put the wheels on. Couldn't wait 'til I got home because it would have been dark by that time.

It's going to be painful putting the 15" winter wheels/tires back on this weekend.

Do you still need winter shoes? Is it still snowing in Jersey?

I'm not sure if the winter wheels are so much for snow or just for dealing with the enormous potholes that develop EVERYWHERE this time of year. Don't want to ruin my shiny new Panasports on one of those nasty things.

Great looking shoes JerseyGirl. I run Panas on my MGC for ease of balance and looks. They are a huge improvement over the original wire wheels, and require only about 1/100th of the maintenance that the wires did. You should have no worries with Panas. Enjoy 'em.

I know what you mean! I don't know where you are in Jersey, but if the potholes are as bad as NYC, you might have to keep the winter shoes on your MINI all year round.

I like the old school look, JereseyGirl. Excellent choice. I have to say that I admire your going for a "look" as opposed to getting the lightest wheel you could find. nice take on MINI modding.

What size are they? They look like they're only 15" but that might be an optical illusion.

Thanks! They are 16" but I see what you mean. They do look smaller in that picture. :???:

I've never been into buying wheels for cars (in fact, I've NEVER bought any before), but in this case I felt it was worth it to get a more traditional look. That, and those 17" S-lites with runflats caused me to actually pull a few muscles when I tried to load them in the car to sell them. Took a week before I could turn my head to the left again. The thought of lugging those things up into my garage attic for the winter every year made me want to cry.

They look great.

I'll be picking my new MINI up on Monday, so Jersey will have one more MC on those pot-holed roads.

Have you thought about painting the center hubs from black to match the color of your dash?

Jon,

I thought about that. We'll see what happens but I won't hold my breath that we'll go without bad weather for that long. Maybe I'll put them back on for that evening if the weather is good.

Hey Jerseygirl,

They look absolutely awesome! But I'm a little prejudiced as I have the MINI 15 inch 8 spokes. I love that style look, but mine are only five and one half inches wide. What tires are you running and what size are they?

I've got 205/50's on there. Went with Dunlop SP9000's because I didnt' want to wait months to get the Goodyear's that I had originally hoped to get.

Hey Jerseygirl,

Oh yeah, I remember now that you were trying to get the Goodyear Eagle F1 G3-D3 in a 205/50/16, but they don't make that size. You had said they are going to. I like the Goodyear too, and hopefully they will have it out when I will need to replace my stock 15 all seasons -- I'll wait til next year. Dunlops are a good tire I've heard. I remember many years ago (30) when I had several motorcycles, that we liked Continentals and Dunlops.
