Sorry to bring this topic from the dead. I have R55 2010 clubman. The brake sensor got damaged so I replaced it, the brake pads still have about 40% life on them. After resetting the brake light on dash it went away only to come back a few weeks later. Checked the sensor and it’s not broken. I purchased another sensor connected to the car but never hooked it up to the brake pad. Same story, the light went away and is now back even though the sensor is not installed on the pads and is not damaged. Getting the lift indicator and brake light on dash. Any advise as to how to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
I understand that. That is why I put the sensor on but never installed it on the pads. The light went off initially but came back a few weeks later. Wondering what could be the cause.
I am going to replace the brake disk. and will be replacing the pads, does anyone know if I have to reset the brake service light even if this didn't turn on?
