I just got 225/50/16 tires.

Has anyone tried this size?

Has anyone tried this size on a car lowered 1 inch?

Has anyone tried this size on a lowered car with camberplates?

TIA

Ahhhh, forgot.

I'd like to put them on +45OS wheels.

I do have +42OS wheels if those don't work.

It's a good possibility those tires will rub without lowering your car. I would not want to try them on a lowered car. 50 may be a low profile but not that low. I like your idea though. I wonder what we would need to do to put this wide a tire on our MINIs, or wider. Cut out the fender well somehow? I heard that doesn't work too well. Don't know why. Different tires are wider than others, thus different tires are narrower than others, so you may be able to find a 225 width that is just slightly wider than a 215. Check TireRack's "Tire Specs". I was just looking there today and they have the "Tread Width" for the specific tires you select. Good source of info. It will be interesting to see what results anyone else has. Good question. Good luck and I hope you find something.

let us know how it works out. I am interested in running 225/50/16 Kumho VictoRacers on stock offset x lite wheels in G stock Solo2. I would like to have R compounds last at least a full season or more. The VictoRacers don't come any smaller in 16".

Well Finn you are going to get an answer one way or another as I am trying to run 225/50/16 VictoRacers on 45os Spoons. I'll be a very nice track setup if they don't end up trimming the nails off my left foot.

I think I remember Alex saying that 225's will definitely rub without spacers or fender mods

what about 225/45-16? Anyone try these yet?

I'll volunteer my fenderwells if need be, and of course my wallet.

With enough creative dremmel tool surgery anything is possible!

Ive made 225-40-18s fit with not too much trouble.

Your main area of concern will stem from the rear tires at approx. 2pm if straight up is 12noon.
