Mini spare alternative list

Has anybody compiled a list of compact spares from other autos that will fit the mini? I need to pick one up ASAP and want to know all my options when looking at you pull yards.

Thanks

Great question, I hope people can chime in on this. I'd love to have options for finding a spare that will work for the car cheaply.

Go to Detroit Tuned they have the spare kit there! I'm going to order one for my Clubman. I sent email for questions they are very quick to response.

I can start the list off with 2 options....

I recently picked up a 15" compact spare from an '09 Chevy Cobalt for my '08 MCS. Works great. Fits on rear only, of course. Was $50 shipped from eBay.

The spare from an '01-'05 Honda Civic (4 lug) will also work....just make sure that it is the 15" spare wheel (likely from the "Si" model).....some of the civic models came with a 14" spare and that will not fit over your brakes....at least not on an R56 MCS.

There are likely alot of others out there as this is a pretty common bolt pattern. Pontiac G5? Kia? etc...

October 2011:
It is not too expensive to purchase a wheel from Classic MINI and a tire from Alex at Tire Rack. The beneifit is that the items are new.
Classic MINI wheel: $37.69 + shippping ($17 to WA state)
Tire Rack: Kuhmo compact spare from Alex for $37 ea, and shipping is $11.06 = $48.06
Total: $102.75 + $10 to mount and balance.

I was going to buy something from a wrecking yard, but buying new is about the same price.

I am parting with the car within the next week or so. I just put 4 new tires on it and want to spend as little as possible on the spare that's why I am looking for cheaper alternative.
