Anyone have an opinion on these pads - at less than half the price of EBC, the Minitex are looking like a good buy - that is if they perform well and reduce the amount of dust generated. I'll be using these strictly for street driving.

OK, my apologies for not using the search function first - which in this case answers all of my questions -

We have discussed Mintex Redbox vs EBC green pads in the past. See

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...mp;topic=21888

In a nutshell, both perform OK. EBC green is about $80 for each set front and rear and shed less brake dust but can sqeak some. For street use either is fine but on the track neither is perfect. For autocross either is OK.

I have Mintex Redbox on my front and rear brakes and at the last autocross I felt my braking was quite good with no fading ( I have upgraded brake fluid and crossdrilled rotors). On the street the Redbox works great and brake dust is not much of a problem- much better than stock pads. I have no sqeaking ever.
Price was about $36 to 40 for each pair so pretty reasonable. They also wear pretty good. If you are doing lots of track work then they won't do as well once your brakes heat up alot- Mintex makes a full line of brake pads for track use or try Ferodo DS2500.
