SSR Comp R Update

I'm interested. Would this be a one-time thing or would it be part of your regular stock? Also, what would TireRack recommend for a light tire to go with that? As long as we're going to spend big bucks for the extra few lbs. of weight loss, I wouldn't want to put the weight back on (and on the outside at that).

Alex-
Any update on when the Comp R will arrive? It's almost May and we have not heard anything. Also any chance of getting a picture of it like you "promised". (I know if it was easy to get you would have gotten it already) Just asking.
As for tires we can opt for whatever we want from the tires you carry for this size of rim. 16x 6.5 which would likely be 195/55-16. But when I check for tires at tirerack.com I see only:
Dunlop SP sports 3000/5000 runflats
Firstone Firehawk GTA 02
Goodyear Eagle NCT5
Any option to get Yokohama AVS ES100 in any size that will fit those 16x6.5 Comp R rims? That would be my first choice. Any other options?

I dont readily have that data on the 16x7's available. If you email me a PDF of your brake kit I'd be happy to have it checked for you.

>>Hey Alex,

>>And if you don't have this... can you check the inner diameter on the 16x7's that you stock? They ought to be pretty close. Thanks

Here's the PDF of the new AP Racing 12in brake kit...
http://www.stillen.com/specs/30-7600Rinfo.pdf
It requires an inner diameter clearance of 346mm (13.622in). Please check this against the 16in SSR Comp (and if it doesn't fit, check the 17in please).
Thanks!

Thanks Casey!
I had seen the Tarox brakes available on their site, but wasn't that impressed with the appearance... Or the price!! Too expensive.
After reviewing the currently avail 16in brake upgrades... I think I can probably get similar performance by just upgrading to better pads, Powerslot disks, steel Goodridge lines and a higher quality brake fluid.
I'm going to wait a few months though. I think Wilwood brakes may offer a kit in the near future.
