Brand new Tire vs. Nail

How unfortunate; I brought my brand new Point A-B Crusher only to find a nail in my FLT... It is in the center of the tread.

Any suggestions?

Center of the tread is a good thing. If it were near the sidewall, it could not be repaired. In the center, it can be patched or plugged. Every tire repair shop I've ever dealt with recommended plug over patch, so that's my suggestion... get it plugged.

Yeah... but it just sucks so much. I just bought this car, and this happens not even 24 hours later. I haven't even driven the car 40 miles yet. Would seem to me the car came with the nail...

Where do you get those cartoon cars from by the way?

Yeah, that does suck. But at least it's not dmg to the car itself and once it's plugged, you'll never even be able to tell your tire ever ran over that nail. Shouldn't cost more than about $15-20 either.

You can copy them from the thread called "What if???" and if you want a custom one done, just put a pic of your MINI in the thread or your gallery and post your request.

the best repair is by a one piece "plug-patch" it is installed from the inside, requiring the tire to be removed from the rim, and uses a tool like a plug to pull a stem thru the tire to fill the hole, with the internal patch providing a sure air seal and support for the plug portion

generally i pay less than $20 to get a plug/patch installed
