Here's what Alex @ TireRack suggested for me for those same criteria:

"The best for dry cornering feel is easily the AD08. The RE11 is the king in the wet, and the best ride quality of the two. "

I'm running Bridgestone Potenzas RE960AS and and really liking them. I'm a pretty aggressive driver and have done a couple of HPDE/Track days and they held up pretty well on track too.

Edit: That's what I get for not refreshing before I post... danny's suggestions are good too, I guess I never thought of putting that wide or aggressive of a tire on my stock wheels.

I think both above are excellent recommendations, considering what's available in the 175 and 185 widths (darn little).
The first three are Extreme Performance summer tires with very high grip, but they have to be pinched in more to fit the 5.5" wide 15" rims, as they're molded to fit a 6.5" rim. I've used a set of RE-11s for several years (including for autocross) and like them a lot.
The Bridgestone RE960AS is an Ultra High Performance A/S tire that fits the 5.5" rim a little better (molded for a 6" rim), but gives up some ultimate warm weather dry grip in exchange for somewhat better all season performance, ride comfort, and longer wear. At least that's what I'm hoping, as I just ordered a set for the BMW M3 that I drive year-round.
Edit: The 205/50/15 tires are about an inch smaller in diameter than OE sized tires, whereas the 195/60/15 tires are about .2" larger in diameter than OE.
