205/65R16 snows on an 07 Cooper S?

I just got an 07 S and it has the standard 195/55/R16 tires. I found some snow tires on sale and they are 205/55/R16's. Will these fit OK?

I'm pretty sure they would fit, they would be a little wider though.

If you are asking about 205/55-16 snow tires then yes they will fit your MINI using stock wheels and stock suspension.

Snow tires in 205/55-16 are taller than stock 195/55-16 at about 24.9 to 25.1" tire diameter vs about 24.3" for OEM tire diameter.

Using stock suspension there is enough clearance for the tall tire size so it is OK. A wider snow tire will not cut through deeper snow as well as a narrow tire.

There will be a little speedo and odometer error with the taller tire.

I got a set of 195-60-16 snows. Have not installed them yet. These are about 1/3" taller that stock, which would provide a bit more ground clearance for whatever that's worth. My suspension is stock. I have not installed them yet btw. But my plan is to use the mini for my ski car at least half the time this season. We shall see how that goes...
