Best size tire for coilovers?

Installing new coilovers this week and I'm wondering what the best size tire would be for a 1.4 drop? Currently I have 225/45/17, are these to wide? What size tire would you recommend so there is no rubbing issues?

Which year MINI and model do you have?
What size wheels (width and offset).
For most MINIs a 225/45-17 is taller and wider than OEM stock 205/45-17 tires. Not a good choice for lowered suspension
If you are using 17x7 to 17x7.5" wheels then you want more clearance not less. A 205/45-17 tire will fit OK and give you the most clearance.
With that drop you want a tire slightly smaller than stock tire diameter of 24.3". 215/45-17 is tall at 24.7" but might fit if you have front camber plates and rear adjustable lower control arms to increase front and rear negative camber. What size will depend on how wide your wheel is and how aggressive the offset is.
What tire were you thinking of? What is your budget.
