Would these tires fit

Hello. What is the largest tire to fit under an 06 MCS. I have 17 inch rims w Runflats. I found these on ebay 215/65-17 http://www.ebay.com/itm/BRAND-NEW-Michelin-X-Ice-Xi2-215-65R17-Set-of-Four-4-Winter-Snow-Tires-/290846633518?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &hash=item43b7cf6e2e&vxp=mtr. I have 205/45-17. Are the 65 too tall? I believe I have seen 215/50-17 as a cross tire somewhere. Thanks. Brian

No they will not fit. A lot of us run 215/45/17 as it is about 1/2 inch taller then the stock 205/45/17.

You might not want to go that tall of a tire.
I felt the difference in acceleration(a bit slower) when I went from 205/45/17 to 215/45/17.

I can only imagine how big of an impact the 225/45/17 will have on your accel. and gas mileage.

Then again I'm very sensitive to small changes.

i agree. there will def be at least an extra lb or 2 per tire. fortunately, the wheels i have just ordered weigh in at 16 lbs each, which i think is pretty awesome for a 17x7.5. a 225/40 would be ideal, but from what ive researched, that size really only offers track style treads/rubber compounds, and my car is more for street use. maybe i will just stick with the 215/45 since the main reason i purchased these new wheels was for the lightweight properties. itd be a shame to ruin that with bulky tires.
