225 45 18 non rf replacement tires
#2
at the stock 32 front /32 rear the ride was so harsh i was ready to replace my 225/45R18 pirelli p7 rfs
figuring i had nothing to lose, i upped the pressure to the alternate pressure shown in the owners manual for "high speed" driving, 38 front / 38 rear
the difference was dramatic and immediate, so much so that when going to dinner that night with 2 friends, they asked when i had managed to sneak away from work to change the tires
the next weekend, i borrowed a friends tire pyrometer to set the tire pressures and ended up at 42 front / 37 rear
i have since put 7,500+ miles on the oem rfs (currently off in favor of winter tires) and all 4 tires are wearing evenly, both across each tires tread and front to rear
when the oem rfs wear out, i will be replacing them with michelin pilot super sport summer non-rfs (in size 225/50R18), only because of the cost savings of nonrf vs rf tires
