16" Steel Rims
Does anyone know of any ALL-TERRAIN or MUD TERRAIN tires that fit 16" Steel Rims that hold 195/55 R16 tires? Please no suggestions of tires if you don't know whether they fit or not
. I've already gotten a lot of BFGoodrich ALL TERRAIN suggestions but i have not seen one that fits
I'm looking specifically for 195/55 ALL TERRAIN Tires

I ran rallycross with 15" wheels and used Rally tires that fit the MINI with lowered suspension. Tire diameter was about 24".
Rally tires are hard to find and tend to be costly about $200 each. They are not for street use and have a very stiff sidewall, and knobby tread blocks.
16" sizes for the MINI are not the greatest. 15" is more workable.
Any reason why you are using 16" steel wheels? Cheap 15" alloy wheels are easy to find, not too wide about 6" or less is good and only to fit over the front brake calipers is fine. If you have JCW front brakes then 15" won't fit.

Rally tires are made specifically for different surfaces-
Gravel
Mud
Loose dirt
While snow tires can be used for Rally cross the sidewalls are soft and not as good as Rally tires. Pump up your tire pressure 40+ psi or you can debead or get lots of dirt inside your tire.

I have used stock 15x5.5" and 15x6" alloy wheels for off road use.
If they are for off road use only you don't need to balance the wheel after mounting them.
You can also look on craigslist or ebay for used Rally tires. Just make sure that the tire diameter is about 24" for the MINI, not too tall or short.
If possible you will want a skid plate for under the engine. Be careful not to damage your power steering fan or block it's cooling.

Sounds like you are running the factory 16" Winter steel wheel ? This is the 4x100 version.

I am currently running above steel wheels and caps with the Dunlop 175/60/16 , if you can find that size in another winter tire , you might be good. A little more narrow then yours.

If you are merely getting from one place to another then I would first look at an aggressive deep snow tire but you would have to drive somewhat slower on loose surfaces. A snow tire might do better on road than a Rally tire but both will wear out faster than an All season street tire.
How many miles do you drive per year?
It's tough to find a tire that will do everything well and be in the right size and budget.
