Strong wheel+tire combination?
#1
Hey Folks
looking for some advice...
I currently have on my cooper S yokohama parada spec2's in 205/40/17 along with OZ Superleggeras.
The problem is that i live in a place with some very rough roads...the "pot holes" are hard to avoid and as such this has put some bends in the lips of the superleggeras.
Would this be more to do with the low profile of the tire or the fact that the superleggera is a very light wheel?
I would prefer to stick with a 17" wheel so do you think a stronger wheel with the same profile would hold up better? Or maybe the same superleggera with a tire that has a bigger profile... would something like a 205/50/17 fit the mini?
Any input would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

A heavier, stronger wheel would hold up better, but the low profile of the tires will still put stress on the 17" wheels.
You might really want to consider a really sharp set of 16" wheels so you can get a little more rubber between the road and your wheels.
Or you could get the Mattracks tank tread conversion and have one truly unique pot-hole smashing MINI!
