Noisy brakes

Noisy brakes
I got my first mini about 2 months ago. An 06. I now find the brakes are making a squeaking noise when I stop. I take to the shop for the warranty work. They call me saying the front brakes and rotors need replacing to get rid of the noise. The brakes and rotors have plenty of 'meat' on them but the brakes are just noisy. It is not a safety hazard.
I called the dealer I bought it from and he said the warranty won't cover them because they are brakes. He did say he will split the cost with me.
Am I having smoke blow up my ... ?
Thanks
Bob

Likely smoke up your butt.
If there's plenty of "meat" on the pads and the rotors aren't near the end of their life (near the minimum thickness), then you may be able to solve the problem by cleaning the rotors installing new brake pads, and doing a proper bedding procedure.
Remember that the bedding procedure is critical to good brake performance. A layer of the pad material must be transferred to the rotor. Read here:

My mini makes a bit of noise....
The cause is simple....
as pads wear, the very edge of the rotor does not get worn down, since there is no pad grinding it down, so a tiny "lip" or ridge forms....
When the pad is mostly worn, the metal backer plate can start to run on the ridge or lip...causing a squeeling noise, with pleanty of "meat" on the pads.
