Painted Bridgespokes

Well, since life has thrown some curve-***** at me and I have to put off new wheels for a bit longer, I just decided to paint the factory 16's and dress 'em up a bit.

If you don't like a lot of pictures... stop reading now

-Before shot of OEM Bridgespokes:

-Wheels after scrubbing every bit of brake dust and road grime, then sanded, cleaned and shown here with 3 light coats of primer:

-I then changed gears and cleaned and painted front calipers. Here are the brackets:

-The calipers themselves:

-The next day I reassembled the brakes:

-I also freshened up the lug bolts:

-After 3 top coats of paint, 3 coats of clear and some painstaking pin striping, I resulted with this:

-One last one:

Anyway, that was my Memorial weekend Saturday and Sunday. Pretty happy with the results and I'm only out about $50 in materials and of course about 12 hours of time.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!

Looks great - I especially like the red accent on the wheels with the beltline. Nice play of the curve ball!

Why no love for the rear calipers?

My rears are black aswell, fronts are JCW.
I'm curious about the red trim ring that goes around the car......is there a how to thread anywhere on this?

Thanks. Give it a shot, or try the plastidip route.

Thanks. Car funds always fall to the end of the line (maintenance excluded). I will do the rear calipers this weekend.

Great job. Move the wheels out with spacers to match the width of the car.

Thanks. Any size recommendation for me? Car is lowered with NM spring (1.2" drop) and wheels are 16's with 195/55 tires. Also, you think staggered?

Probably 5mm and no more than 10 mm would do the trick.

Nice! When I had my 2010 R56, it had factory black Bridge Spokes. Yours look even better, since mine didn't have the red pinstriping. With the black alone, you'd be hard pressed to tell that those didn't come from the factory that way. Nicely done!
