Wheel sizing questions.. 2013 Cooper S

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here and am looking to source some BBS LM wheels (or similar) for my '13 Cooper S. I'd like to put as much wheel and tire I under the car as I can with minimal poke.

From what I've been reading an 8 inch wheel is about as wide as I can go without crazy poke and no rubbing inside. Is this true?

If so, I was thinking 17x8 et45 would be the way to go. Are there any alternative sizes or offsets to consider for maximum width while not poking outside of the upper fender arch?

Thanks in advance,
Coops

et 45 is more offset than you need on a 8. et 35 is flush with the fender with no camber.

8.5 and 9 are also possible without but are less "bolt on"

this is a 17x9

Creeve,

Thanks for your input, I like the look of the 17x8 ET35 wheels and saw some with 17x8 1nd 17x9 ET25.

It sounds like I have alot more reading to do regarding offsets before making a decision.

I think a 45 offset would rub on the spring inboard. Depends on how you have your coils setup though.

The wheels are esm-004's 17x8 et35, I bought them on sale direct from the mfg's website.
