Few Questions about TPM / Rims

I'm thinking of buying new rims when my r56 arrives.

Do I need TPM installed on my new rims? How does it affect the computer of I elect not to use it?

If I do use TPM on my new wheels, how much do they cost if I bought a new set instead of using the ones on the stock rims?

You don't need to use the TMPS. If you choose not to install them, then you will just have a constant warning indictor on the dash. You might be able to code this out using NCS Expert.

New sensors are $75-$100 EACH. But you can easily move the original sensors to the new rims, I just did this myself.

Yeh I don't want the constant warning indicator.

70-100 each.. Hmm I guess it will be just more cost effective if I have a tire shop pull them out from my stock wheels then.

I'm not sure how much they will charge me, everything on this island cost extra :(

You can get a whole set of TPMS for ~$200 at TireRack. Just search for wheels that fit and they'll appear on the accessories page (where you can add them without buying any wheels). I've bought them twice so far (one for a set of MINI wheels and again on aftermarket wheels), and had no trouble.

You can but a brand new set from Alex at Tire Rack for around $200. A tire shop should be able to break the bead of you existing set and reach in to get the sensors and charge you any number of prices. Some places would do it to earn the business, other places might charge you double of what a mount and balance would cost because they have to break down 2 sets (they aren't doing the full labor of 2 sets of tires, dismount old, mount new, balance, and remount on car, etc)

All nice, I think I can swing $200. I might go that route.
