HELP..Ferodo brake pads
I have the Ferodo pads and put the fronts on my 03/03 build MCS. On the right rear I have a sensor for pad wear but the pad does not have a place for it!! Two companies have told me to just tie the sensor wire to the ABS wire (which runs by it) with 3 or 4 zip ties and not to worry about it.
Not to worry?? I think my brakes are important but not being a mechanic I don't know if I should do it this way.
Has anyone done this??
Thanks in advance.

all the sensor does is let the rotor grind down the insulation then the circuit completes and you now "know" you have less pad left. Mine 05/02 build doesn't have them, and if you are upgrading to street/race pads, I am assumming you know to look at you pads pretty frequently. I wouldn't worry.

I have the EBC Redstuff pads on the rear, and they also don't have the notch for the pad sensor clip. We just tied off the wire with the clip and I've had no problems so far. It's true, by the way, that the sensor doesn't really go off until the pad is all the way down to the metal backing plate. Just check your rear pads periodically. If you don't do track events or autocross, they should last a fairly long time.

These sensors are not on all four corners, just the left front and right rear. If you wear the right front or left rear a little more than the others you will hear grinding before the brake light goes on. I also believe that once this sensor comes on it is too late anyway. checking your pads from time to time is the best way to go. Everyone I know that has put after market pads on has just tied the sensor back. I agree that if you are savy enough to use better pads you should also know to check them once in a while. I also helped a friend put on EBC greens and there was a notch to re-insert the sensor on the fronts but not the backs.
