I get that.....nicely done in black! I actually like the red though with my all black JCW. I wouldn't have it any other way on black with the JCW red highlights throughout. I REALLY like that look personally.

our problem begins with the current 4 lug set up, and we need 5. I have left
an email with Jerry (yesterday), asking about a custom set, Brembo
clearance....and a few other things. I just installed their "sport" rear sway, AND
their engine tie bar, so hopefully they'll be kind to me. I'm also getting their
Power module. I will let you know what I find out about the wheels, and PM
you on the pricing. Apparently they WILL be coming out with this set that will
work perfectly on our new JCW's, but they won't be available for sometime
Edit: I was assuming you had a 2016 JCW.....but maybe you don't. All this was based on a 2016. If you have a 2015 for instance, I believe you would have no problem with the RSe12's. I also forgot to mention I have 10mm spacers on the fronts (15's on the rears).
Edit: ok I just looked you up so you can pretty much disregard everything I said. I see you have a 2015.

My memory was slightly skewed... They may or may not come in 18x8.
Here is his email to me:
Sorry for the late reply. We have several options for the JCWs:
Option A - Common fitment
Re-machine VW wheels in 18x8.0. The new MINIs are now sharing the same bolt pattern like the VWs which is 5:112mm. So all we need to do is to open up the center bore from VW’s 57.1mm to MINI’s 66.56mm diameter.
Plus: The 8.0 gives more aggressive flush look to the car and it will not rub when paired with 215/40R18.
Minus: The 8.0 barrel sits close to the front strut, which is fine for stock with lowering springs but not good for coilovers. Most of them have fatter body which can potentially rub against the wheels/tires.
Option B - conservative fitment
We have RSe12 and 52 for JCW specific coming in a couple of months. They will bolt up just like factory wheels out of the box.
Plus: OEM wheel cap will fit, no mods to the wheels, slightly cheaper because no machining required, will clear almost all coilover kits.
Minus: ETA 2 months :(
Both wheels will be lighter than factory JCW wheels and unfortunately they are all satin black, almost in between flat and gloss.
Thanks,
Jerry T

On the NM website...says available right now:
http://www.nm-eng.com/338/0/0/3089/n...ght-wheel.html
Is this one for non-JCW's?....the specs of the wheel seem to be right on...18"x7.5" is really perfect. Offset is outward a bit but may be ok. Would be nice in silver! Maybe this is the RSe12 for non-JCW's? Nice look either way.

Just installed some Motegis and Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The wheels are the same size, but much lighter, and with a 45mm offset. Tires are 225/45/17. The wheels weigh about 16lbs vs stock 21.5lbs for the stock Cosmos wheels, but my tires are slightly heavier than the Continental non-runflats I had before. All in all, I saved about 14lbs total in unsprung weight from the car.
They're definitely a step up in terms of both grip and ride comfort. I'm still exploring the setup a bit since it feels so different - I'm not sure if I feel some squirreliness in tight corners from the extra sidewall or not.
I don't want to repost all the pics, but there are more pics in my Project thread post.

Looks great! Nice stance and aggressive overall look!
According to the wheel & tire fitment guide I have the 215's are the max width for a 7" rim, although your 225's look fine.
My guess is you may experience some "sponginess" with the wider tires, but maybe not. This might depend more on the tire than anything else, including the aspect ratio.
I've had over-sized tires on rims before and my experience was not that great. You can definitely "feel" the lack of tightness while driving.
A 7.5" wide rim would be better for running 225's imo, but good luck with your setup...it looks sweet! I'm partial to Midnight Black Metallic anyway!

Yea, because of the cup design. 17" will be close.

Thanks for the compliment!
I also had some initial concerns about the tire size on the rim but the specs from Michelin for this size tire said it fit from 7"-8.5", and the test size for all their measurements was 7.5" so I felt like I probably wasn't pushing the boundaries of common sense.
