Official F56 Wheel Fitment Thread

jumping in on this thread. been reading it since it started but since i wasnt' ready for wheels, i didn't post...now that i'm tracking the car about 6-12 times a year, i need to up my setup (as well as track/summer tires).
i'm torn in the sense that i like aesthetics just as much as tracking her, so my wheel would need to cater to both sides of the spectrum.
my current ideal setup is as follows:
18x8 ET45 on 215/40's. Wheels TBD and Tires are the R-S3's.
seems i shouldn't be concerned with spacers. FWIW, i'm on NM Springs as well.

so yes the Team Dynamics are nice and I won't knock them one bit. With that being said, it is not IMO an ideal track wheel for this chasis. A 15 lb 17" is still going to be overall lighter (depending on tires) and allows for a broader range of track tires with more sidewall (think rumble strips.) Additionally, you don't necessarily need an 18" wheel to clear a bbk.

I don't disagree. I went with 18's because that's what looks appropriate on the platform imo. The 17x8 TD is under 17lbs. I know what weds typically run hence my query re:pricing. If they're 4-500/wheel I don't see a lot of folks dropping double an rpf1 or TD for incremental performance.

If y'all are interested in finding wheels you should contact Rajeet at Mastermind NA. He runs a business that imports japanese wheels and refinishes them for people in the USA. He can find damn near anything, can re-drill to whatever bolt pattern you need and is extremely reasonable.
For instance, I had him hunt for a wheel for my F56 and he found a set of gold 17x8 et 45 LM's. He was going to charge me $1,500 for them in refinished condition. Of course virtually everything out of Japan is 5x114.3 so you would either have to him him redrill them or use a stud conversion with wobble nuts to run them on a 5x112 car, but it's still worth talking to him if you want a good set of wheels. I ended up passing because I'm going to focus on finding a good set for my w124 instead of worrying over finding another set for the F56 but he has a really good reputation.

Hi All, my car is 16's F56 S, 6MT, MidnightBlack. And i'm from China.
Dose anyone use this fitment:
wheel:18x7.5j et45, tires:225/40/18,
and with stock suspension, brakes, no spacers, no camber changes
All I want to know is, will this fitment cause any rubbings ? even when the steering locks.
I wanna use the 225 tires because in China the 205/215 18" s tire is hard to buy.
The Michelin, Continental, Goodyear don't offer the 215/40/18 tiers in China.
And 205's tire, I get a little worry about the grip...
So , dose anyone help me with this?
Special thanks!!

225 will be 10mm wider than a 215 (5mm on each side of the wheel). 5mm may not seem like a lot, but with the tight fitment to the hub of the OEM struts, 5mm could cause contact with the strut. (that size seems to be pretty safe. My brother in law is running 225/45/17 on a 17x7.5 +48 and doesn't rub). The only wrinkle in this is if the tire runs big. I.E. my 225/40/18 Bridgestone Potenza Re71-R's cross section closer to a 245. So when you're looking at tires look up reviews and actual widths before you buy!

I have an R56 but these cars are very similar and use 17/7.5/45 offset wheels mounted with 235(yes) /40/17. MINI is a big brake JCW that is lowered 2" all around. There is NO rubbing. If anyone is interested I have a wheel fitment device that will be FOR SALE at MOT2016. See you there.

I recently noted that O.Z official provide for the F56 mini's wheel specs is 18X7.5J, ET50.
But they don't mention the recommended tire size ...
If the mod factory says this specs is fit for the car, will they surly prefect and no rubbing at all?
And which tire size can I use? Is the 225 OK?
