Help with Volk wheels?

Need info on where to purchase Volk wheels on line with good service and price. Looking for TE-37 in 16x7.

If you have these wheels what do you think? Are they worth the extra compaired to SSR comps?

Photos on mini would be nice to.

thanks J

wow, if you're really in hawaii, watch out for the shipping. PM if you need a dealer, i have one in VA that I like, and can get you a good price on them.

The TE37 is a nice wheel, I have 17 TE37 and they're great, light, strong. Not as light as the CE28, but better brake clearance and easier to clean. they're very high quality, and not that many MINI folks like Volk, so it's also unique.

If tirerack was a Volk dealer and had the LE37's (not TE37) I would've gotten those

instead of my SSR Comps. But I've had great success with SSR wheels in
the past (and comps on my other car) so buying the Comps was a very
sound choice for me especially when coming from The TireRack with tires
already mounted, etc.

After i saw how great the Comps look on my car, I don't think I would've
gotten the LE37's after all. I do like Volk wheels though.... just can't find
a reputable source as the TireRack.

Volks are going to be light (11.2 pounds) and expensive

Most of us can't afford to get Volks. I did price them at Hypersports in Town near Comp USA and they were about $1600 for a set of four 15x7" rims shipped. So given you want 16x7" rims it would be more like $1800 per set of four. The weight is low at 11.2 pounds for each but for the cost it leaves much room for alternatives. On the internet I saw them for $450 each

See
http://www.wheelspecs.com/specs/wheelmodels/425
Bronze and white finish unless you special order.
For MINI choose +42 mm offset not +33mm, 4x100 bolt pattern
You might need centering rings, MINI hub is 56.1mm

Or you can consider SSR comps in 16x7 and those are light but about $280 per rim from tirerack

Or you can consider TE-37 replicas by Rota called Grid

Rspeed.net sells the 16x7 size for MINIs as does
http://www.jaydm.com/rota-grid.htm
http://rspeed.net/miata/item.asp?dep...8&prod=405-303
Note that link to rspeed was on the miata side for 15" grids, just ask for 16" to fit the MINI. They used to list it but don't anymore.

16x7" +40mm offset 16 pounds $500 a set plus shipping
Colors: Polished Silver, Bronze, White, Silver w/polished lip, Gunmetallic w/ polished lip, Steel Grey w/polished lip, Black w/ polished lip.
So you get a good selection of finishes with the Grid by Rota and a decent price about $125 to 135 each but the weight is a bit more but not bad at about 16 pounds per rim.
Rspeed will sell tires with the rims or you can buy the tires in Hawaii but it is limited.
Rspeed carries Falken (215/45-16) and Toyo tires (Proxes 4)
see also
Falken Ziex ZE 512 Tire 205/50/16 for $79 each
http://rspeed.net/mini/item.asp?dept...6&prod=405-712

And at tirerack.com there are Kosei K1 racing in silver or white finish for $159 each in 16x7.5" with +43mm offset 15 pounds each.
http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=EZ3&url=/servlet/CallJsp&target=wheelSearchCloseUp&wheelIndex=24&si zeIndex=0&showRear=no&setIndex=4&filterSize=16&fil terFinish=&filterSpecial=Pricing
Construction-Gravity Cast Shot peened

Similar look to SSR Comp rims but well priced. You have a large selection of good tires at various sizes at tirerack mounted and balanced. (shipping for tires alone to Hawaii about $65-75 depending on weight)

By comparison the SSR comps at tirerack.com are:
16x7" anthracite with machined lip $295 each 11 pounds +42mm offset
Semi solid forged takes 195/55-16 tires

16x7.5" silver with machined lip $305 each, 11.5 pounds +42mm offset
Semi solid forged takes 205/50-16 tires

I've done a LOT of research on lightweight wheels lately. And as it happens you can get the TE-37s for about $360/rim ($1440/set). I'm thinking of getting volks too, so PM or Email me and I'll tell you where and maybe we can get a bigger discount.

I just mounted up a set of Volk 17" Le-37s for track and auto cross fun. If i can find my camera I will try to post some pictures soon. Make sure if you get the Volks you ask for the aluminum hub rings not the plastic which will not take a lot of off and on activity.

16x7" in silver with machined lip?
Which tires? 195/55-16? 205/50-16?

Aloha Minihuni,

wanted 16x7" but I also wanted silver so I had to go with 7.5" tires are 205/50-16 Avon tech m-500 recommended by Alex at Tire Rack.
