My mini got stuck on a steep wet hill

I think there is a misconception about winter tires. When I read the full reviews and charts on tirerack.com, the Winter tires tend to have less wet traction than Performance Winter tires, and summer tires in the Maximum Performance category for instance. You can tell by looking at the 50-0 stopping distances. This really surprised me.
Something I noticed is that my Maximum Performance Continental Extreme Contact DW tires spin significantly less going up my steep wet driveway than my Grand Touring All-Season Continental ContiProContact SSR tires even though they're both AA traction.
There are always exceptions so you've really got to look at the individual tire model and conditions.
