clearance question - Avid 15x8 wheels and r53 calipers

Anyone have an experience if a 15x8 +25 avid av-11 wheel clears the stock r53 calipers?

Searched and couldnt find an answer on it.

Appreciate it in advance

Should fit over the stock R53 brakes but it will poke out a lot.

ET25 is pretty extreme for a 1st Gen MINI.

225/45-15 tires aren't really appropriate as they are -4.2% shorter than stock. 225/50-15 is appropriate size although neither size offers many tire choices.

What tires were you going to use? Summer or All season tire?

With stock suspension you may have a problem getting the right tire to fit the wheel wideness and be tall enough to fill out the wheel gap.

It may be possible to use a more narrow tire that has a tall sidewall for a stretched fit.

Going to be my strictly autocross tires to put me in the street class. hoping that BFG rivals are available in 225/45/15 before the next season. should that fail, it will be 205/50/15 Rivals or Zii (or Starspecs) on 15x7s

Is this for SCCA autocross?

Which Street class are you referring to? Check limits of wheel width and tire width if in Street Touring classes, also treadwear limit of 200.

If for D Street class you can run 18x7, 17x7, 16x6.5,or 15x5.5. offset within 7mm of OEM.

see
http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/...ok_online1.pdf
Wheel diameter can be increased or decreased 1" from the OEM part for that model.

In STX, wheels can be up to 9" wide, 265mm limit on tire width.

Running in BMWCCA National Capital Chapter.

tuner class allows free wheel and tire size choices above 140 wear rating.

I like the look of some of those 15x8 avid, but I'm worried that the offset is going to cause problems.
