Yokohama AVS ES100 VS Kumho Ecsta Supra 712

I've driven identical BMW 330i's with ES100's and Kumho 712's on an autocross circuit... my impression is that both are excellent tires, but I have to say that I favor the ES100's feedback more and they seem to have more progressive breakaway. I think the ES100's also have slightly sharper turn-in.
When purposely going in a little deep in a long sweeper, the ES100's provided more audible and steering feedback to let me know that I was losing traction - the 712's did for a split-second before letting go (which provided some fun, exploratory cone murdering that I'm not used to doing). I tried to keep the experiment as controlled as possible, speed and braking-wise, but it's far from a lab exercise.
I've heard from a few other people that they love their 712's, but do not appreciate their propensity to break loose because of lack of feedback.
Both are excellent tires for street driving, rain, and spirited motoring, though. If you're going to autocross a bit and aren't planning on a dedicated set of wheels/tires for it, I'd lean more towards the ES100's. I've been running ES100's in our local BMWCCA chapter's autocrosses and have been putting up times better than or close to the MC's running Falken Azenis or Kumho MX's(our BMWCCA favors long courses that are more like road courses than autocrosses, so Hoosiers provide less of an advantage). Personally, I couldn't be much happier with my ES100's.

Ive never compared the 712's back to back with my ES100's...but
just from actually driving on these on my commuter for the last
4months or so, the tires have:
- good grip wet or dry,
- some tramlining is felt through the steering wheel, but not annoying
- much more comfortable vs previous RE910's in the same 215/45/17 size.
- howling noise is probably the worst part I don't like about these tires
...but its a performance tire so you have to expect some noise. I'd
like to swap these out with some ST115's down the road.
